Regent Classics -the story so far.

We have has many requests from potential and existing customers asking for our story. Well here goes.

We are a husband and wife team (Geraldine and Ken)  who first started out as Classic Car geeks. We owned Classic Cars as a hobby turning up at Car shows regularly.

Because our cars were of such a high standard (after years of nurturing and loving them) we gradually had more and more enquiries from people at shows and from people who saw us locally driving about asking if we did weddings. At the time Ken was working as a fire officer and Geraldine worked in the wedding industry (so had a good insight into weddings after 25 years’ experience). Slowly but surely, as the enquiries mounted and after researching into what would be required to complete a wedding event, we did our first local wedding using Daisy our 1955 Morris Minor convertible. That was over 8 years ago!

We have since flourished and as Ken retired from the fire service; our business took off as we threw all of our energy into our Classic wedding car business. We were so popular Geraldine now only works a small amount of hours in her long time job mentioned earlier and has decided to start work (tirelessly 24/7!) on her new full time job –Regent Classics.

A lot has happened since then; our cars are very popular and quirky! They consist of Daisy (already mentioned above) Lily our 1960’s Morris Minor saloon, she was used for the David Jason comeback series “Still open all hours” (the car that nurse Gladys used), Buttercup (also used in various channel 5 documentaries) and Poppy our 1970 Mark 2 Ford Capri (this model shown in the 1970’s series Dennis Watermans and George Coles “Minder” and Bodie and Doyle “Professionals”.

We are based in Egerton, Bolton, Greater Manchester and we now do weddings in various places covering the entire North West region Areas (Yorkshire, Cumbria, Merseyside, Derbyshire, Cheshire and many outlying areas. We pride ourselves in achieving a high rate of customer satisfaction and because we run and control everything within the business we make sure customers get the best service, we drive the cars ourselves and our other drivers are ex fire fighters who we have known for  over 30 years so we know they are top class.

We have many stories to tell – this was just an introduction, we will try to put some more blogs on our site as we go along … bye for now Ken & Gerrie!
